Exploring Careers in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
This course will prepare you to enter ECE college courses and introduce you to immediate employment opportunities. The course prepares you to enter ECE college courses and immediate employment opportunities.
This introduction course covers early childhood education, including an overview of the history of the field, evolution of professional practices and ethics, educational principles that support child development from birth through the school-age years, and teaching practices based on observation, documentation, and interpretation of children’s behavior.
10-week course is 4 hours of in-person instruction and 2 hours of distance learning per week.
Session 1: August 16 - October 18
Session 2: October 25 - January 18
In-person- Wednesdays — 4:30-8:30 pm
English Language Development and Work Skills for the Early Childhood Educator
This course focuses on the vocabulary, writing and communication skills that an Early Childhood Educator will use in the field. This course offers ESL students the opportunity to learn literacy and workforce skills to accelerate the path to employment.
