Medical laboratory technicians perform routine laboratory analyses that are involved in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The Medical Laboratory Technician program prepares students to qualify for and pass the National Medical Laboratory Technician Licensing exam and apply for state licensure. This qualifies licensed individuals to be eligible to work in hospitals and research laboratories.
The Associate of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology includes didactic and clinical training along with prerequisite science and math courses and general education requirements. The Medical Laboratory Technology training program prepares students for employment in clinical laboratories, industry, and biotechnology as a medical laboratory technician, laboratory assistant, and/or research technician/associate.
