EGACE is proud to partner with Sowing Seeds Community Health Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to training individuals as community health workers (CHWs). Potential employers are looking for individuals who have lived experiences and want to empower underserved communities. Lived experiences include: • Unique cultural, religious, and language background • Justice-involved • Navigating healthcare systems through you own illness journey • Diverse economic backgrounds Community Health workers (CHW’s) work in the fields of public health, health care and social services. CHWs provide a wide range of services, including health outreach and education, client-centered counseling, and case management. They work to reduce unequal rates of illness and death between different communities and to promote health equity and justice. This program covers: The roles and skill of a CHW, Professional Skills and Conduct, Basic Knowledge in Public Health Principals, Basic and Advanced Nutrition, Chronic Diseases, Infectious Diseases, Family Planning, Addiction, Outreach, Service Coordination and more. Program fee: $1,200, incudes registration fee and materials.
